The idea is a pearl resting inside a husk, like a seed. Fine gold plated wire is woven into six marquise shaped cages, three on each side, with a baroque pearl held in each, and the layered wire reads like leaves wrapped around the pearl. Between the stations, smaller freshwater pearls thread along the chain, leading down to a teardrop pod at the center that forms the lowest point of the necklace.
